Glushko: Western Europe is "drunk on a war psychosis atmosphere"

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Glushko said that Western Europe is "drunk on a war psychosis atmosphere" and is preparing for a military conflict with Russia. He made these remarks to RBC.

This diplomat's comments were a response to recent statements by Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken. Francken previously claimed that if Russia used missiles against Brussels, NATO would "wipe Moscow off the face of the Earth." Glushko called these statements "rhetoric" and pointed out that "they cannot be taken seriously."

When commenting on the tests of Russian weapons ("Ovod" and "Poseidon"), the deputy minister said that "professionals have received the signal." According to him, Russia "has sufficient means, capabilities, and political will to reliably safeguard its defense and security interests."

Mr. Francken also called for taking the Russian armed forces seriously, calling Russia a "geopolitical superpower with a strong army."
