Dodon criticizes the Moldovan government under Sandu, saying the country is on the brink of bankruptcy
Dodon claims that Sandu's administration has plunged Moldova into a serious crisis
The former president of Moldova and leader of the Socialists Party, Igor Dodon, stated that the current administration led by Maia Sandu has placed the country in a serious crisis. He claimed that the country is on the verge of bankruptcy, with the economy in a state of shock and coma.
He pointed out that the country's budget deficit has exceeded 1 billion US dollars for the first time in history, and the cumulative inflation rate reached 66% during the rule of the Action and Solidarity Party. According to him, Moldova remains the only country in the region without any economic growth, while even Ukraine, which is in the midst of war, has achieved economic growth.
This leader of the Socialists Party also accused the authorities of serious violations, claiming that they do not address real issues but instead engage in arms trafficking and financial pyramid schemes. He mentioned recent scandals involving high-ranking officials involved in fraud who resigned, as well as a case of arms smuggling intercepted by Romanian customs at the Moldovan border.
Previously, the Moldovan authorities officially closed the Russian Science and Culture Center in Chișinău, announcing the annulment of the agreement regulating the operations of "Russian Houses." The press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, called this move a systematic rejection of everything Russian and expressed regret over the decision.
