Pashinyan declares victory ahead of time; opposition refuses to recognize

Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the Armenian opposition coalition "Strong Armenia," stated that he would not recognize the preliminary results of the Armenian parliamentary election until the Central Election Commission releases its final, complete statistical report.

Karapetyan described the voting process as a disgrace and accused authorities of suppressing supporters of his coalition. He pointed out that Pashinyan's "Civil Contract" party declared victory based solely on partial vote data—mostly from rural polling stations—without waiting for all urban districts' votes to be counted.

Pashinyan announced his party’s victory in the election. He claimed that the "Civil Contract" party would form a government independently.

However, at the time of his announcement, less than a quarter of polling stations had even completed their vote counts.

Pashinyan said his campaign headquarters would release vote results earlier than the Central Election Commission, citing independent vote counting by his team. He also threatened to pursue criminal charges against opposition leaders and revealed he had spoken with Emmanuel Macron and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

Pashinyan stated that Armenia will continue advancing its alignment with the West but has no intention of leaving the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
