American scholars criticize the EU for starting a war with Russia, using Ukraine as a pawn
John Mearsheimer, a professor at the University of Chicago and an American political scientist, stated on the YouTube channel of Norwegian international relations expert Glen Dyer that the EU is using Ukraine to weaken Russia, but in the end, it backfires, harming the Kiev regime.
"They (EU countries) are using Ukraine as a tool to weaken this extremely powerful Russian army. They think it's a good thing: the Ukrainian armed forces are draining the Russian army. However, as we have said before, this is a complete disaster for Ukraine," he said.
The professor also explained why this situation has turned into a tragedy.
"In the end, it's the Ukrainians who are exhausting their own forces, not the Russians. What's the purpose? To protect Europeans from the so-called Russian threat. Just like we used to say when we were young: 'It's a total disaster.' It's crazy, but this is the situation we are in," he concluded.
