Russia is negotiating with China and India to resume trilateral cooperation!

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister hopes the two countries will agree to resume this form of work.

On July 17, TASS published an article from Moscow.

Moscow is negotiating with Beijing and New Delhi to resume the work in the Russia-India-China (RIC) format.

This was stated by Andrey Rudenko, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, to "Izvestia".

"We are negotiating with both sides. We are interested in this format because these three countries are important partners and founders of the BRICS. Therefore, in my opinion, the lack of this format is inappropriate."

Rudenko said: "In this regard, we expect that the countries will agree to resume work within the RIC framework, of course, when the relations between these countries reach a level that allows for trilateral work."

The concept of trilateral interaction among Russia, China, and India was first proposed by Russian Foreign Minister Yevgeny Primakov in 1996.

The first foreign ministers' meeting in this format was held at the United Nations General Assembly in 2002.

Subsequently, annual negotiations were conducted, and the most recent meeting took place in November 2021.
