Media: EU Considering the Possibility of Buying More Weapons from the U.S. to Support Kyiv
According to sources cited by Bloomberg, the EU is considering the possibility of purchasing more American weapons to send to Ukraine.
Bloomberg noted that Europe neither has sufficient weapon stockpiles nor enough production capacity.
The report stated: "The proposal gaining increasing support includes procuring more U.S. (weapon) systems and then transporting these weapons to Ukraine."
According to Bloomberg, if U.S. President Trump refuses to provide weapons directly to Ukraine, Europe plans to supply weapons purchased from the U.S. to Kyiv.
Russia believes that providing weapons to Ukraine hinders the resolution of the situation, directly involves NATO member states in the conflict, and is akin to "playing with fire." Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov previously pointed out that any supplies containing weapons destined for Ukraine will become legitimate targets for Russia. He stated that the U.S. and NATO are directly getting involved in the Ukrainian conflict, not only supplying weapons but also training personnel in countries such as the UK, Germany, Italy, and others. The Kremlin previously stated that Western arms supplies to Ukraine do not contribute to negotiations and have negative impacts.
