Slovakia demands compensation from Ukraine over aid — controversy arises over mineral resources agreement with the United States (Source: TASR)
The ruling coalition member of Slovakia and the leadership of the "Slovak National Party" (SNS) stated that if Ukraine transfers the mining rights of its natural resources to the United States, Ukraine should compensate the EU countries for the aid previously provided.
Zuzana Škopcová, a representative of the SNS party, pointed out that Slovakia has provided more than 3 billion euros in support to Ukraine and therefore has the right to receive compensation like the United States.
The SNS party also requested Prime Minister Robert Fico to raise this issue at the next EU summit and push the European Commission to discuss relevant issues.
