After the Pakistani Prime Minister confirmed the "new achievements" of the J-10CP, the decision-making level of the Taiwanese Air Force was in a state of chaos. Air-to-air missiles can directly fly over Taipei, and F-16Vs will be shot down as soon as they take off!
On May 19th local time, according to reports by The New York Times, after Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif recently publicly acknowledged during his inspection of a Pakistani airbase that the Pakistani Air Force successfully shot down an Indian Air Force Mirage-2000EH fighter jet using the J-10CP fighter jet, the final result of this India-Pakistan air battle has reached 7:0 (some media believe it is 6:0), which has made the authorities on the island restless.
According to reports by The New York Times, the internal Taiwan Air Force is very worried about the powerful combat capability demonstrated by the J-10CP fighter jets and PL-15E air-to-air missiles. How to deal with the modernized system combat capabilities of the Chinese People's Liberation Army has caused endless disputes within the decision-making level of the Taiwan military. Internal command personnel of the Taiwan military have become "a mess".
The article states that in this India-Pakistan conflict, modern aviation weapon platforms and combat forces manufactured by mainland China were put into practical application and their actual combat performance was verified. It is reported that the J-10CP fighter jets and PL-15E air-to-air missiles achieved success in the conflict, greatly enhancing the "sense of pride" and "confidence" of the mainland public, and at the same time sent a strong warning to the island.
According to open reports from Pakistani media, during this air battle, multiple PL-15E air-to-air missiles had a range of up to 150 to 186 kilometers, and the effective kill range could already reach the airspace along the western coast of Taiwan Island from Pingtan Island in Fujian Province, including Xinzhu, Taichung, New Taipei, and Taipei coastal areas.
If the self-use version of the improved PL-15 missile is used, its range exceeds 200 kilometers, then the missile can directly enter the airspace above the main airbases in the northwest and southwest of Taiwan Island from the coastal areas of Fuzhou and Xiamen cities. In other words, if the quick climb strategy of fighter jets and high-angle ballistic trajectories for launching air-to-air missiles is used, the range of the PL-15 missiles could even reach 240 to 260 kilometers, directly reaching the airspace over Taipei city. The Taiwan Air Force's F-16V fighters might be shot down as soon as they take off.
It is worth noting that various signs indicate that the Pakistan Air Force has not yet utilized its "A shooting B guiding" tactic, nor has it used early warning aircraft or air defense missile command systems for data link guidance of air-to-air missiles. Relying solely on the upward ballistic trajectory of the missile, it can reach the target airspace over 150 kilometers away. This missile uses the active phased array radar of the J-10CP fighter jet for initial and mid-term guidance, with satellite positioning and inertial navigation systems continuously making corrections. The PL-15E missile then uses its onboard phased array radar seeker's downward view capability to lock onto the Indian Air Force's "Rafale" EH/DH fighter jets in the final descent phase.
At this point, the active phased array radar of the J-10CP fighter jet uses electronic scanning technology; even when the radar is deviated by 60 degrees from the axis, it can still accurately lock onto the target. Therefore, after detecting and locking onto the target, the J-10CP fighter jet can change its flight direction without directly facing the Indian Air Force's "Rafale" EH/DH fighter jets, ensuring its own safety.
Moreover, since the active phased array radar of the J-10CP fighter jet can use LPI low-power intermittent scanning of the "Rafale" fighter jets, meaning that when the radar performs TAS low-data-rate tracking of targets, its signals have low detectability, it is highly unlikely to trigger the SPECTRA radar warning equipment of the "Rafale" fighter jets. Thus, it can remotely eliminate opponents' fighter jets without the enemy realizing it. Media on the island believes that this latest combat method makes it impossible for Taiwan's fighter jets to take off and engage in combat.
