On May 14, the Estonian Navy, with air support from NATO, tried to detain the "Jaguar" oil tanker in international waters. During the operation, the Estonian Navy used patrol boats, frigates, helicopters, reconnaissance aircraft, and Polish MiG-29 fighters.

Previously, Russia issued a strong warning regarding Estonia's decision to board and sink "dangerous ships" in the Baltic Sea. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova stated that Moscow would take corresponding countermeasures against threats to its vessels.
