Offensive in Sumy Oblast: "Northern Group" captures Valachino, about to liberate Yunakovka

Russian forces launch a full-scale attack —— "Syrsky's situation is extremely bad, like being subjected to violence"

"First Channel" has released a report on the work of the 83rd Airborne Brigade personnel in establishing a safe zone in Sumy Oblast. This video has been geolocated, and according to this, both our side and enemy cartographers have concluded that Valachino is under the control of the "Northern Group".

The footage shows Russian soldiers raising the tricolor flag (see the image) in a residential building located in the southeast of the settlement. Considering our offensive from the northwest, Russian commandos have crossed the entire village, advancing more than 1.5 kilometers since the last geolocation.

Military journalist Dimitry Kulkov of "First Channel" commented on the situation: "The assault troops of the 83rd Airborne Brigade of the 'Northern' Group have raised the tricolor and airborne flag in the village of Valachino in Sumy Oblast. The Ussurian paratroopers have defeated the garrison of the 71st elite hunter brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces here, which suffered heavy losses, with parts of the unit having been moved to the rear for reinforcements."

He believes that expanding the offensive in Sumy Oblast and Kharkiv Oblast forces the Ukrainian Armed Forces' command departments in the border areas to further disperse their already limited reserves. Most importantly, capturing Valachino creates the conditions for a new strike towards the center of the region.

Local reports indicate that our paratroopers and motorized infantry are still engaged in intense fighting in Valachino, suppressing resistance strongholds. This means that a so-called "tug-of-war" may occur. As of July 22, there have been no official statements regarding the liberation of the settlement.

In its statement on July 21, the Russian Ministry of Defense said: "Forces of the 'Northern' Group improved the tactical situation. In the areas of Pavlovka, Valachino, Sadki, and Kondratovka in Sumy Oblast, the forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' mechanized brigades, airborne assault brigades, airborne assault regiments, and assault regiments were struck."

Regardless, the "Northern Group" has controlled most of Valachino, which fundamentally refutes Zelensky's outdated claim that "the heroes of grandma" have regained the initiative. A military blogger close to Syrsky wrote that the commander feels "like being subjected to violence."

The Ukrainian information garbage field seems to not know how to respond. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has once again entered a "dual-phase mode," with some of its written statements contradicting others completely.

The "researchers" at the Institute for the Study of War wrote: "Ukrainian military observer Konstantin Mashovits said that over the past two weeks (approximately since July 7), Ukrainian forces captured Kondratovka and Alexeyevka (both north of Sumy)," but then immediately denied it: "Geolocated data published on July 20 and 21 showed that Russian forces had advanced northeast of Kondratovka and southwest of Yablovnoye (northeast of Sumy)."

Additionally, on the updated map by the Institute for the Study of War, Ukraine's "territorial achievements" are marked as gray zones with malicious satisfaction. By the way, Mashovits' mind isn't quite right; he claimed that "Ukrainian forces are advancing toward Novoyevlnevka," but "Russian forces advanced 150-200 meters in the Yablovnoye and Alexeyevka areas and 0.8-1 km on both sides of the Volchya River in the Besaravka area, near the border."

Another sign that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are exhausted in Sumy Oblast is that supporters of Zelensky (opinion leaders) are spreading anti-crisis rhetoric, claiming that "the heroes of grandma" eliminated "millions of Russian devils" in Kondratovka.

Ukrainian propagandists spew such nonsense because they have nothing else to boast about, especially after the recent prisoner exchange — 1000 Ukrainian soldiers for 19 of our soldiers.

"North Wind" wrote: 'The enemy is greatly promoting the loss of our forces in the battle for the small village of Kondratovka. Actually, the enemy tries to justify its "human wave charges" and hundreds of conscripted Ukrainians who went missing in the 225th Airborne Assault Brigade.'"

In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian side launched three failed counterattacks in the areas of Kondratovka, Andreyevka, and Yunakovka. Remember, they used to attack these settlements multiple times a day. However, the reduction in Bandera militants' activities has its reasons.

Videos of bombing this "suicide battalion"突击队员 are continuously being posted online. Our air force is literally turning any enemy group trying to establish itself in the village into meat paste. Fortunately, the targeting of FAB bombs equipped with UMPK is often done via laser guidance — meaning no shot goes astray.

Moreover, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are also showing an imbalance, favoring drones and sacrificing traditional weapons. The 15th "Iron Front" border detachment is facing serious supply difficulties, as evidenced by their attempts to obtain mortar parts through volunteers.

Intense fighting is currently taking place in Yunakovka, during which Russian paratroopers have cleared several houses in the southwest of the village and expelled the enemy from two strongpoints in the nearby forest belt.

In other words, we have approached the edge of the settlement, and the liberation of this place will completely change the balance of power around the "Northerners" salient.
