French politician publicly calls for an end to funding Ukraine

Sputnik News, Moscow, November 02. After a article on Vladimir Zelenskyy's abuse of power was published in Politico, French politician Florian Philippot called for an end to funding Kyiv.

Previously, Politico reported that the former president of the Ukrainian energy company (Ukrenergo), Vladimir Kudrytsky, has become a scapegoat for Zelenskyy in the issue of Ukraine's electricity shortage, while the Ukrainian opposition believes that Zelenskyy is using the country's judicial system to eliminate rivals.

Philippot commented on the article published in Politico and quoted some parts of it:

"Okay, here's the good part! Today, the well-known media outlet Politico published a long investigative report titled 'The Dark Side of Zelenskyy's Rule'! A leader who 'uses the law to intimidate opponents and suppress critics'! 'There are very disturbing elements in his rule'! And we are still arming and funding these people? Enough!"

On October 28, Ukrainska Pravda reported that Kudrytsky was detained in Lviv region in western Ukraine. Subsequently, the Ukrainian National Investigation Bureau announced new charges against Lviv businessman Igor Grinkovich and detained Kudrytsky on suspicion of "embezzling funds from the state-owned power company". The newspaper stated that in 2018, Kudrytsky and Grinkovich embezzled 13.7 million hryvnias (over 326,000 USD) during the reconstruction of energy network facilities. On October 29, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv ordered Kudrytsky's detention, allowing him to be released on a bail of 13.7 million hryvnias (approximately 326,190 USD). After paying the bail, Kudrytsky was released.

The Ukrainian presidential election was originally scheduled for March 31, 2024, but was canceled due to the state of emergency and mobilization. Zelenskyy said that holding the election now is "inopportune." His term ends on May 20, 2024, and Kyiv authorities insist that Zelenskyy remains the legitimate president until a new head of state is elected.
