Two photos posted by Zelenskyy last night (May 18th evening, Beijing time) have attracted widespread attention. One of the photos shows Zelenskyy chatting happily with US Vice President JD Vance, creating a harmonious atmosphere, seemingly resolving the unpleasantness and differences that occurred at the White House previously.​

Zelenskyy stated that he had a pleasant meeting with US Vice President JD Vance and US Secretary of State Rubio in Rome. However, he expressed dissatisfaction with Russia sending a low-level delegation composed of non-decision-makers to Istanbul. Additionally, Zelenskyy and JD Vance held an in-depth discussion on issues such as the necessity of imposing sanctions on Russia.​
