According to reports by Reuters and the "Kyiv Independent", on May 18 local time, Ukraine said that Russia plans to test fire a RS-24 intercontinental ballistic missile on the night of May 19 to intimidate Ukraine and the West.
Ukraine claimed that the missile will be equipped with a "training" warhead.
According to reports, the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Agency (GUR) released a statement on social media on May 18 local time, stating that the order for the nighttime launch was given from Russia's Sverdlovsk region. The missile has a range of more than 10,000 kilometers.
In the statement, GUR said that in order to exert pressure and deterrence on Ukraine, the European Union, and NATO member states, Russia plans to conduct a "training and practical" test firing of the RS-24 intercontinental ballistic missile.
Russia has not yet commented on the above statement.
