C929 has entered the detailed design phase and plans to obtain Chinese airworthiness certification in 2032. The model design is similar to that of Airbus A350 and Boeing 787, with a maximum passenger capacity of up to 440 people and a range of approximately 12,000 kilometers, equivalent to a direct flight from Shanghai to New York.

C919, the first trunk single-aisle aircraft of COMAC, was put into commercial operation in May 2023.
