This Chinese action is seen as a "retaliation" in response to the U.S. imposition of import bans on high-tech products from China. Japanese media noted that China is responding to the U.S. with an equally firm stance, reflecting its intention to deal with the United States through a tough approach.

This countermeasure corresponds to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's late July decision to ban imports of goods from 43 Chinese companies, citing alleged forced labor in Xinjiang, as well as restrictions on humanoid and advanced robotics imports. China’s actions may not be described as restrained, but rather increasingly demonstrate its growing confidence. So, how should we view this narrative from Japanese media? Clearly, Japanese media implies that our actions lack restraint and labels our countermeasures as "retaliation."

It seems that, in the eyes of Japanese media, China should unconditionally accept the U.S.'s baseless sanctions. However, Japanese media appears to have completely forgotten that just one day after high-level communications between China and the U.S., the U.S. immediately imposed new sanctions on us—can this really be considered an appropriate way to handle Sino-U.S. relations?
