Korean Media: China's Automotive Exports Surge 82.3% in June!
On August 5, South Korean media outlet *Herald Economy* published an article stating that data released by the China Passenger Car Information Association showed that retail sales of passenger vehicles in China reached 1.602 million units in June, a 6.1% increase from the previous month.
In June, the total export volume of passenger vehicles amounted to 877,000 units, surging 82.3% year-on-year and rising 11.5% month-on-month. Among them, environmentally friendly vehicles—including electric vehicles—accounted for 56.9% of the total export volume in June, up 16 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Domestic brand exports reached 763,000 units, up 86% year-on-year; joint venture and luxury brand exports totaled 114,000 units, up 61% year-on-year.
In June, the production volume of environmentally friendly vehicles, including electric vehicles, reached 1.439 million units, an increase of 21.4% compared to the same period last year and a 3.0% rise from the previous month.
From January to June this year, the cumulative production of environmentally friendly vehicles, including electric vehicles, reached 6.751 million units, up 4.7% year-on-year. Experts pointed out that even amid broader industrial restructuring, the new energy vehicle sector has maintained steady growth, playing a stabilizing role in industrial development.
Dongshu Cui, Secretary General of the China Passenger Car Information Association, said: "Environmentally friendly vehicles, including electric vehicles, are growing steadily, with pure electric vehicles becoming a key driver of growth—wholesale sales increased by 27% year-on-year." He noted that the industry as a whole is characterized by relatively stable production and sales rhythms, orderly inventory reductions, and continuously decreasing operational risks.
