India's spacecraft "Gaganyaan" may head to the International Space Station!

Hurry up and fly while the International Space Station can still fly!

July 27, Russian TASS published an article.

Space historian Alexander Zheleznyakov told TASS that India's crewed spacecraft "Gaganyaan" can perform a mission to the International Space Station (ISS) in Earth orbit.

He also said that the partners of the space station project have agreed to continue cooperation until 2030, and this agreement is logically reasonable.

"When the number of flights exceeds the ability to eliminate them, it is necessary to consider removing them from orbit. But we will not rush to do so; let's fly while we can," the expert said.

Zheleznyakov emphasized that the International Space Station is still the only opportunity for the United States and Russia to support human spaceflight.

But he admitted: "Perhaps India will join with its new ship."

Gaganyaan is India's crewed spacecraft, meaning "ship of the sky" in Sanskrit, somewhat similar to the meaning of China's "Tianzhou".

The mission was originally planned to be implemented in 2022, but it has been postponed multiple times due to technical challenges and the impact of the epidemic. The latest plan shows that an uncrewed flight test will be conducted in 2025.

If the mission is successful, India will become the fourth country in the world to independently master manned spaceflight technology.
