"As per the Iranian Government's request, I hereby declare that I will suspend the plan to strike Iran's energy facilities (Energy Plant) for a period of 10 days, until Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 PM (Eastern Time). Negotiations are still ongoing, and despite false statements made by so-called 'fake news media' and others, they are going very well."

From the wording, it appears he is complying with Iran’s request in order to keep negotiations moving forward—extending the deadline by five more days. The longer the time, the more cards Trump holds in his hand. Moreover, he has a habit of suddenly escalating tensions during negotiations.

However, the target remains unchanged: Iran’s power plants. Iran previously responded that if the power plants are attacked, they will retaliate by targeting desalination plants across Gulf states and all U.S. military installations.

Speaking of U.S. military bases in Arab countries, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi posted that "since the war began, U.S. soldiers have fled military bases within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) territory, hiding in hotels and office buildings, using GCC citizens as human shields. Even American hotels now refuse to accommodate officers whose presence might endanger customers. GCC countries’ hotels should also refuse!"

At almost the same time, the Islamic Parliament of Iran issued a statement: "Sacred defense must continue until the enemy fully repents, aggressors are defeated, any possibility of attacks on Iranian territory is eliminated, and all hostile U.S. and Israeli bases and forces in Western Asia are dismantled."
