Russian Culture Minister Leads Delegation to North Korea, Says Bilateral Cultural Cooperation Has Reached an "Unprecedented Level"

Russian Culture Minister Lyubimova led a delegation to North Korea and praised that cultural cooperation between Russia and North Korea has reached an "unprecedented level".

Reuters reported that Lyubimova (Olga Lyubimova) led a delegation of 125 actors to North Korea on Saturday (June 28). She posted on the social media platform Telegram that a series of concerts and lectures will be held in the capital of North Korea in the coming days. The delegation members include actors from the Pyatnitsky Choir and the Gzhel Dance Troupe. Lyubimova said that due to the agreement reached by Russian President Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, "cooperation in the cultural field between the two countries has reached an unprecedented level."

Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Moscow and Pyongyang have become increasingly close, with the leaders of the two countries signing treaties including a mutual defense pact.
