Kazakhstan International News Agency - A reporter from KAZTAG in Tashkent reported that Kazakhstan has remained one of the three major trade partners of Uzbekistan in the first five months of this year.
Data released by the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan shows that from January to May 2025, Uzbekistan's total foreign trade reached 31.3 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 15% compared to the same period last year.
Currently, Uzbekistan has trade relations with 189 countries around the world.
Among them, China is Uzbekistan's largest trading partner, with bilateral trade exceeding 5.3 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 17.2% of its total foreign trade.
Russia follows closely behind, with imports and exports exceeding 4.8 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 15.4%.
Kazakhstan ranks third. The bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan is close to 1.8 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 5.7%, an increase of 212 million U.S. dollars compared to the same period last year.
During the same period, the total value of goods exported by Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan reached 518.8 million U.S. dollars, while the import volume exceeded 1.2 billion U.S. dollars.
