Russian President Putin stated that Russia's participation in the "G8" was not "полноправным" (fully equal or complete).
The Russian leader arrived in India on Friday, beginning a three-day working visit to attend the BRICS summit.
"They pulled us into the G8 as well, but as I've already said, it wasn't full participation. I see all this very clearly. Even though they say all the right things," the Russian leader said.
Previously, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov noted that the G8 format no longer holds appeal for Russia, as the center of economic development has shifted elsewhere.
