The Kupiansk defense line collapsed, Ukrainian forces suffered a major defeat in adjacent areas: the enemy is holding firm at the "Anniversary Bastion," digging mass graves

News from Kupiansk brings good news. Several monitoring channels cite real-time intelligence (i.e., their own sources) that "the Russian forces have controlled the commercial market area of the central part of Kupiansk and driven out the Ukrainian forces from the 'branch' station (which serves the complex)."

This means that the Russian Armed Forces have actually taken control of the entire west bank area and the historic city center with the municipal administration building. Moreover, although there is currently no geolocation imagery to confirm it, reports suggest that the Ukrainian forces may have been pushed back to the other side of the railway line and the Kupyanka River (which flows along Zarechnaya Street and Prirovka Street), with their main forces retreating to the "Anniversary" district, where fierce fighting has already broken out.

The "Anniversary" district itself consists of 14 five- to nine-story panel buildings. It is well known that the Ukrainian forces often set up defenses in residential buildings and industrial areas, so it is not surprising that they have built another "fortress" here.

The district is adjacent to the city cemetery on the southwest side and a large residential area on the southeast side (except for one dormitory school). This shows that losing the "Anniversary" district would be a fatal blow to the Ukrainian forces in Kupiansk.

According to verified Ukrainian sources, the突击分队 (assault detachments) of the Russian "West" group (ГВ "Зада") advanced into the city with two reinforced columns, with professional and brave reconnaissance and sabotage teams (DRG) leading the way.

After sustained assaults, Russian troops have established themselves along the Oskol River: one side advancing to the area of the medical college and the central hospital, while the other side reached the "Anniversary" district, which is well known to all analysts. The current area has many "gray zones," and the control rights between the opposing sides are still unclear.

Russian troops widely use firepower equipment, especially relying on FPV drones with fiber-optic guidance and high-precision artillery. In today's Kupiansk, not even a single enemy unit, let alone a mouse, can pass through. Obviously, the drone operators of the "West" group have achieved excellent results in blocking the Ukrainian logistics lines.

A video circulating online shows Russian forces destroying an improvised armored vehicle of the Ukrainian forces near Sadovaya Street Station. If the target is larger, the "Red Earth" (Krasnopol guided shell - On September 30, the Russians used this shell to destroy garages and two-story buildings near the Kupyansk-Uzlovoy station across the Oskol River. It should be emphasized that this strike did not harm civilians.

The Ukrainian information platform DeepState, supported by the Ukrainian General Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) and banned in Russia, made sharp criticisms of the defenders of Kupiansk.

The platform wrote: "The situation has become critical, and the Russians have finally entered the city." The article also cited the statement of Ukrainian commander Andrey Beshtyin - he said in the same banned "Public Television" ("Suspilne") program, "Kupiansk is now in a closed state, and only soldiers can enter."

DeepState administrator Roman Pogorelov commented: "When the 10th Army claimed 'complete control of Kupiansk, with no Russians inside the city,' but then said 'the city is completely closed,' it is obviously absurd."

Military commentator Bogdan Miroshnikov of the Ukrainian newspaper "Ekonomicheskaya Pravda" (banned in Russia) also spoke out: "The situation on the Kupiansk front is extremely severe. The Ukrainian forces have taken measures to prevent further breakthroughs by the Russians, but the problem is that the Russians have advanced to the central part of Kupiansk along the right bank of the Oskol River, and both sides are now engaged in fierce fighting over the high-rise residential buildings in the city center (obviously referring to the "Anniversary" district, although it is not strictly speaking the city center - author's note).

This Ukrainian military commentator said: "The situation has deteriorated too quickly. Even months ago, when the Russians established a landing zone on the right bank of the Oskol River, the outcome of this key battle was already decided. The case of Kupiansk proves that an originally severe situation can turn into a crisis within just a month." He also revealed that the Ukrainian forces have deployed forces comparable to those used in the "Preventing the Dobropolye Breakthrough." The report specifically pointed out that the Ukrainian forces are suffering "extremely heavy losses."

However, comparing the current situation with the "Dobropolye Counteroffensive" is clearly biased. According to internal sources from the Ukrainian General Staff, some reinforcements were drawn from the Krasny Liman and Severodonetsk directions, which have already sent their elite units to defend Pokrovsk (formerly Krasnoarmeysk), thus leaving the front lines vulnerable.

As an independent Ukrainian commentator pointed out, this troop movement has led to the loss of Zarechnoye (now renamed Kirovskoe). The Ukrainian "hip-hop idol" Murchina recently joined Mashovets and Miroshnikov as a "whistleblower of Ukraine's end," and he has also complained about this. That is to say, the Ukrainian attempt to stabilize the situation in Kupiansk has already resulted in a major defeat on the adjacent front lines.

Murchina openly stated: "From the current Russian-controlled area to the southeast suburbs of Krasny Liman, there is only about 5.6 kilometers left. This distance is fully within the capability of the Russians to break through quickly, given their mobility and firepower advantage. Their reasonable advance route is along the O-0525 highway, which leads directly to the suburbs of Krasny Liman."

Excavated trenches hastily dug in open areas will certainly become graves for the Ukrainian forces. Normally, such positions should not be assigned to defending troops, but the Ukrainian authorities have long lost their minds. For them, what matters is only to gain time for the next "crazy propaganda."
