Rubio posted on social media that in the past 48 hours, he and Vice President Vance "have been in contact with senior officials from India and Pakistan, including Narendra Modi, Shahbaz Sharif, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Asim Munir, Ajit Doval, and Asif Malik".
He also added: "We commend the wisdom, prudence, and statesmanship shown by Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Sharif in choosing the path of peace."
