U.S. forces shoot down 4 Iranian drones and strike Iranian radar stations; Iran retaliates by attacking U.S. bases

Tasnim News Agency reported on the 6th that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran announced in a statement that, following a U.S. air strike on Iranian radar stations along the coast of Ghoruk and Qeshm Island, Iranian missile strikes hit U.S. military installations.

The Iranian statement indicated that at 01:30 local time early in the morning, four oil tankers, guided by the United States, attempted to leave the Strait of Hormuz without coordination with Iran and despite warnings from Iran's Revolutionary Guard Navy. One of the tankers was hit and stopped, while the others turned back.

Subsequently, at two o'clock in the morning, U.S. drones conducted an airstrike on facilities in the Ghoruk region and Qeshm Island.

In response, Iran immediately launched ballistic missile attacks on two U.S. Air Force bases in Kuwait and U.S. Navy Fifth Fleet facilities in Bahrain.

Iran warned that if such incidents occur again, its response will no longer be limited to a restricted scope.

Tasnim News Agency reported that explosions were heard in multiple locations in Kuwait. The Kuwaiti military stated that their air defense systems are responding to "hostile missile and drone attacks," and the explosions heard within Kuwait are due to the interception of these attacks by the air defense system.

Alarm sirens also sounded in Bahrain.

Flights to and from Kuwait and Bahrain have already been affected.

The U.S. Central Command released a statement confirming that Iran had launched missile attacks on U.S. bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. A total of seven missiles were fired by Iran.

The U.S. statement said that prior to this, U.S. forces shot down four Iranian attack drones launched toward the Strait of Hormuz and conducted airstrikes on coastal radar stations in the Ghoruk region and Qeshm Island in Iran.
