The U.S. military claims intercepting six Iranian ballistic missiles

The U.S. Central Command stated that the U.S. military intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones launched toward the Strait of Hormuz and neighboring Gulf states on June 5.

According to Central Command, after the U.S. shot down four Iranian one-way attack drones near the Strait of Hormuz that posed a "direct threat" to regional maritime navigation, Iran fired seven ballistic missiles toward Kuwait and Bahrain.

Central Command's preliminary assessment indicates that six of the seven missiles launched by Iran were intercepted, while the seventh failed to hit its intended target. There are currently no reports of U.S. personnel casualties. Central Command also explicitly denied Iran's claim that the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain was attacked, calling the information "false."

Central Command confirmed that the U.S. subsequently struck coastal surveillance radar stations in Iran located in Goruk and Qeshm Island, in order to "defend against further maritime attacks."
