Foreign Media: On April 25, the United States and the European Union signed a key memorandum of cooperation on critical minerals, aiming to reduce dependence on China's dominant position in raw materials required for semiconductors, electric vehicles, and advanced weapons.

U.S. Secretary of State Rubio and EU Trade Commissioner Šefčovič signed the agreement in Washington. Rubio emphasized that excessive concentration of resources in one or two regions poses an "unacceptable risk," making supply chain diversification imperative.

The two sides will also coordinate trade policies to address so-called "non-market policies and practices distorting critical mineral supply chains."
