Chinese cars are being stolen in large numbers in Moscow and St. Petersburg!

The leading ones are Chery Arrizo 8 and Great Wall Poer.

August 22, Russian "Public News" reported.

According to VSK data, the proportion of Chinese vehicles stolen in insurance accidents reached 28%.

The most frequently stolen car brands are Chery, Haval, Chang'an, and Li (each with about 4% of insurance cases).

Last year, the cars most often stolen by criminals were Geely brand vehicles.

The majority of theft cases are concentrated in big cities: Moscow accounts for 28%, St. Petersburg for 19%. The top ten high-theft areas also include Dagestan, Tatarstan, Sverdlovsk, Ryazan, and Ulyanovsk regions.

In 2025, criminals tend to choose Russian and South Korean brand cars. However, due to the increase in sales of Chinese cars, the situation may change in the future.

Although the sales of Chinese cars are declining, their theft rate is rising. This is a worrying trend: even Chinese economy cars have become targets for criminals, bringing new risks to car owners.
