The Pentagon posted on social media X: "Last night, the US military carried out boarding inspection rights, maritime interception, and ship boarding inspections within the area of responsibility of the Indo-Pacific Command, and intercepted the 'Veronica III' vessel without any accidents."
The Pentagon pointed out that the US military tracked the ship from the Caribbean Sea to the Indian Ocean waters.
According to information from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the "Veronica III" oil tanker sails under the flag of Panama.
