Russian Ambassador to Venezuela: The US is Expelling Unwelcome Foreign Companies from Venezuela

Russian Ambassador to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov said in an interview with Sputnik News that the US is using unfair competition methods to expel unwelcome foreign companies from Venezuela.

"This primarily involves the US' extraterritorial sanctions and financial and economic restrictions that violate international law. These actions aim to drive out Russian and other 'unwelcome' foreign participants from the Venezuelan market and clear the way for agencies controlled by Washington," said Melik-Bagdasarov.

The Russian ambassador stated that U.S. political figures openly admit and do not hide this policy.

He added, "It is incorrect to say that Russian companies have been pushed out of the market. Individual projects have been forced to adapt to the pressure of sanctions, adjusting their work schedules and models, but this has nothing to do with January 3. At the same time, Russian companies have not abandoned their commitments and continue to maintain cooperation with their Venezuelan partners."
