According to Iran International Television (iranintl), on March 12 local time, the Fars News Agency, a subsidiary of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated that Mansoureh Khojasteh, the wife of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei, is still alive, and earlier reports claiming her death are not true.
Earlier on March 12, Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei gave his first speech since taking office, and did not mention his mother's death, which has raised questions from the outside world.
Several Iranian state media outlets had reported that his wife was also killed in the days following Khamenei's assassination.

According to The Times of India, Mansoureh Khojasteh was born in 1947 into a respected merchant family, and married Khamenei in 1964.
It is said that unlike the spouses of many political figures, Mansoureh Khojasteh is low-key and has not held any official position.
It is reported that on February 28, during the US-Israel attack, Mojtaba had six family members killed, including his father Khamenei, his wife, a son (some reports say a daughter), his sister, brother-in-law, and niece, who were confirmed to have been killed in the targeted strike on the leader's residence.
