Japanese Media: CEO of U.S. Startup Asserts China's AI Has Surpassed America
According to a report by Kyodo News on August 4: On August 3, the CEO of Hugging Face, a U.S. startup focused on artificial intelligence development, told CNBC in an interview: "China has already taken the lead in the competition for AI development."
The CEO said to reporters: "Chinese AI companies are dominant in the publicly accessible 'open-source' domain of technology." He predicted: "It wouldn't be surprising if Chinese firms announced their most advanced technologies at the end of this year or early next year, even in the cutting-edge fields of artificial intelligence."
In July this year, Hugging Face suffered a cyberattack originating from OpenAI, the developer of the U.S.-based generative AI system ChatGPT.
