The Hindustan Times reported on November 23 that the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) announced on November 22 that it will establish 10 all-female border outposts along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between China and India, to expand the role of female combat personnel and strengthen border security. It is reported that ITBP is establishing two all-female border outposts in Lukung on the western shore of Pangong Tso Lake in Ladakh region and Thangi in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh (editor's note: at the border of Sazang Township in our country). In addition, it plans to build another 8 similar outposts. Director General of ITBP, Praveen Kumar, stated that the "forwardisation plan" launched by ITBP in 2020 has made significant progress. The number of forward border outposts has increased from 180 to 215, and further 41 forward outposts will be added along the China-India border in the future to enhance border security prevention and coordination capabilities. Additionally, it is reported that Kumar also mentioned that ITBP has been approved to add 7 battalions and 1 brigade headquarters (editor's note: equivalent to a division level) in 2023, which further strengthens the above plan and enhances coverage and command efficiency in border areas.
