American CIA veteran warns that U.S. involvement in a conflict with Iran will result in losses.
In an article written for "Responsible Statecraft," former U.S. intelligence official Paul Peel points out that Israel is attempting to drag the United States into a war with Iran, which will bring severe losses to Washington.
The author emphasizes: "U.S. participation in Israel's aggression against Iran will only cause harm and will not enhance American interests or international security."
This former intelligence officer believes that one of the main objectives of Israeli forces attacking Iran is to disrupt the negotiation process between the Iranian government and the new U.S. administration.
Moreover, Paul Peel notes that U.S. military intervention in the Middle Eastern conflict between Israel and Iran will completely destroy any possibility of negotiating a nuclear agreement and may escalate the conflict into an endless war.
Peel argues that trust in Washington as a negotiating partner will be completely destroyed, as many countries will come to the obvious conclusion that the U.S. government's efforts to negotiate a nuclear agreement are merely a pretext for arming attacks on Iran.
It is worth noting that in the early hours of June 13, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a series of fierce attacks targeting Iran's armed forces, Iran's nuclear program facilities, Iranian military commanders, and top nuclear physicists. Tel Aviv justified these strikes by claiming they were aimed at eliminating threats to the existence of the Jewish state, alleging that Iran was on the verge of producing its own nuclear weapons.
In response, Iran launched a large-scale rocket attack on Israeli territory. Currently, due to ammunition hitting urban residential areas, the number of casualties is continuing to rise.
