Foreign media: China has built the world's first commercial underwater data center in Hainan. The project is located in Lingshui County, Hainan, and is an important project for developing blue economy in Hainan's 14th Five-Year Plan.

The underwater data center uses seawater cooling, which can reduce cooling energy consumption compared to land-based data centers, thus lowering operating costs. Each underwater data cabin weighs 1,300 tons and is located 35 meters underwater, capable of housing 24 server racks, able to host 400 to 500 servers.

Hainan plans to build 100 such data cabins, aiming to promote the development of technologies related to the blue economy and attract more foreign investment.
