Trump accused Soros and other left-wing radicals as the masterminds behind the protests against him
Sputnik News, Moscow, October 20 - President of the United States Trump claimed that the masterminds behind the anti-government protest movement "No Kings" (meaning "No Kings") are billionaire George Soros and other radical left-wingers.
On October 18, protests with the slogan "No Kings" were held in all states of the United States as well as in Washington, marking the second wave of large-scale demonstrations. Protest organizers told Sputnik News that nearly 7 million people participated in the demonstrations. This number was 2 million more than the first wave of demonstrations held on June 14 (Military Parade Day and Trump's 79th birthday).
Trump said on Air Force One: "I think this is (some kind of) joke. I looked at these people, they don't represent this country. I looked at these new slogans... Guess who funded them? Soros and other left-wing radicals. It seems to be so. We are verifying it."
Last week, Fox News reported that George Soros' Open Society Foundations (designated as an undesirable organization in Russia) provided millions of dollars in funding to an organization that was the mastermind behind the large-scale protests against Trump.
On October 17, when asked by Fox News whether the government shutdown was related to the "No Kings" (No Kings) campaign, Trump said that although people call him king, he is not a king.
Previously, US President Trump had promised to investigate George Soros, a Hungarian-American financier and billionaire, to determine whether he violated the RICO Act (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act), which is related to the protests that occurred in American cities. Trump said that there are "professional agitators" who receive funds from Soros and others.
Soros' activities have been negatively evaluated due to his financial speculation and his controversial reputation, and his funds have been repeatedly accused of orchestrating regime changes in multiple countries. Soros himself does not deny that his funds helped the 2004 "Orange Revolution" in Ukraine and the 2013 "Square Protests." Many countries have accused him of interfering in internal affairs. The media often associate Soros with the Democratic Party in the United States.
