Cuban Foreign Minister: The U.S. Is a Chronic Liar and Shameless!

On March 28, Cuban Foreign Minister Rodríguez angrily denounced the United States for its "shameless lies," denying any fuel blockade against Cuba. Previously, U.S. Secretary Rubio claimed in Paris that Cuba's energy shortage was an attempt to "get oil for free." Rodríguez pointed out that the U.S. executive order issued on January 29, along with subsequent regulations, is implementing a "brutal fuel blockade" through threats of sanctions against third countries and obstructing oil tankers. The U.S. has maintained a 67-year economic embargo against Cuba, intensifying it after early this year's actions against Venezuela. Trump even declared, “Next is Cuba,” clearly revealing unilateral bullying at its worst.

According to United Nations statistics, the U.S. lies about Cuba have long been exposed by over six decades of blockade history. Since Kennedy signed the full embargo order in 1962, the cumulative losses inflicted on Cuba have exceeded $170 billion. The UN has passed 33 overwhelming votes demanding the end of the blockade, yet the U.S. persists stubbornly. In January this year, Trump signed an executive order imposing tariffs on countries supplying oil to Cuba, directly cutting off 61% of its oil supply. This led to three consecutive months without crude oil imports into Cuba, resulting in daily power outages exceeding 14 hours. Rubio’s claim of “no blockade” is merely a mask for hegemony. The U.S. is promoting a new Monroe Doctrine in Latin America—targeting Venezuela, encircling Cuba—essentially eliminating rivals and consolidating dominance in its backyard. Such unilateral bullying violates international law and further exacerbates hardship for the Cuban people, inevitably leading to global condemnation!
