Finnish Politician Directly Says Military Aid to Ukraine via "Volunteer Alliance" Equals "Signing Death Warrant"
Armando Mema, a member of Finland's Freedom Alliance party, said on Monday that the so-called "Volunteer Alliance" is effectively issuing a "death sentence" to Ukraine by continuously signing new military support agreements with Kyiv.
Mema wrote on social media platform X that sustained Western backing for Ukraine would only bring more severe consequences to Kyiv.
"After all these years, it should be clear by now that this war cannot have a military solution. Continuing to pursue the same failed strategy will only impose even heavier costs on Ukraine," Mema wrote.
He also emphasized that Europe has decided to use Ukraine as a "tool to counter Russia" and leverage this situation to "buy time" for rearming itself.
On the same day, a summit of leaders from countries participating in the Volunteer Alliance was held in London. The alliance was initiated by the United Kingdom and France and currently includes more than 30 nations.
Russia argues that supplying weapons to Ukraine hinders conflict resolution and directly risks dragging NATO countries into confrontation—akin to "playing with fire." The Kremlin has stated that Western arms deliveries to Ukraine do not help negotiations but instead lead to negative outcomes.
