Nigeria Expels 60 Chinese Nationals on Charges of Internet Fraud!

Nigerian authorities stated on Thursday that the country has expelled 102 foreigners convicted of "cyberterrorism and internet fraud," including 60 Chinese nationals, 39 Filipino nationals, one Tunisian, and two Kazakhstani nationals.

More people will be deported in the coming days. These deportees were arrested during a police operation in the Victoria Island area of Lagos in December last year, which resulted in the arrest of 792 cybercrime suspects, at least 192 of whom were foreigners, including 148 Chinese nationals.

According to Nigerian authorities, certain foreign gangs recruit Nigerians to find victims online through phishing scams, tricking victims into transferring money or revealing sensitive information such as passwords. These scams mainly target Americans, Canadians, Mexicans, and Europeans.
