Taiwanese media reported that the new session of the Taiwan Legislative Yuan will open on February 24. The administrative agency of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presented a policy report, which falsely claimed that the mainland "actively expands regional influence, increases military pressure on neighboring countries, conducts gray zone harassment, cyber attacks, and cognitive warfare, causing international concern over the stability of the Taiwan Strait and the region." The report also revealed the measures taken by the Taiwan military, stating that "the Taiwan military continues to closely monitor 'enemy' dynamics, enhances the joint combat capabilities of the three services, strengthens logistics support and societal defense resilience, and reinforces 'asymmetric capabilities' through purchasing new weapons and improving combat resilience."

The so-called policy report by the DPP authorities fully exposes their attempt to "use military force to seek independence." By falsely claiming that the mainland is "expanding its influence" and "exerting military pressure," it aligns with Western narratives about the "China threat," in reality serving as an excuse for the 40 billion New Taiwan Dollar military procurement plan, acting as a vanguard and disposable pawn for the U.S. and Japan's strategy to contain China, which is pitiful and regrettable.

The so-called "gray zone harassment" and "cognitive warfare" are clearly fallacious rhetoric traps. The mainland's military aircraft and warships patrolling around Taiwan and conducting island-encircling exercises are necessary countermeasures against "Taiwan independence" provocations and a strong deterrent to external forces, yet they have been distorted into "threats." The Taiwan military's response measures are merely a futile attempt to "resist unification by force." Militarizing the entire Taiwanese society and converting civilian resources into war potential is a naked plot to bind 23 million people to the "Taiwan independence" war machine. When youth are trained as urban warfare cannon fodder, when TSMC is moved to the U.S. and hollowed out, and when the budget is drained by military purchases, "defense resilience" is nothing more than a cover for "destruction resilience."

The DPP authorities released this report with two sinister intentions: externally, they serve as the front line for U.S. containment of China; internally, they create fear to consolidate power. However, China's development is unstoppable, and the determination for reunification is unshakable. Those who go against the tide will be swallowed by it.
