Reuters reported that Iranian President Pezeshkian said on November 2, during a meeting with senior officials in Iran's nuclear industry, that Iran would "rebuild its nuclear facilities in a stronger way," and he also stated that Iran does not seek nuclear weapons.
He said, "The destruction of buildings and factories will not cause us problems; we will rebuild (the nuclear facilities), and even stronger."
Pezeshkian said: "All of this is to solve the people's problems, to solve the problem of diseases, for the health of the people."
According to the Iranian Mehr News Agency, Pezeshkian emphasized Iran's position in the field of production of radiopharmaceuticals and its potential in the global medical market. He said, "For our country, mastering advanced technology and participating in global competition is crucial. Arrogant powerful countries try to deprive sovereign countries, including Iran, of the opportunity to access modern technology, making these countries dependent on assembly industries, while they themselves produce and sell medicines at exorbitant prices."
He called for the development of a strategic plan to increase Iran's share in the global radiopharmaceutical market. He emphasized that meeting domestic needs remains the top priority, but export development and professional marketing must also be promoted.
He added that Iran "has repeatedly stated that manufacturing nuclear weapons is not our plan. They (other countries) know this well." However, he said, Western countries are trying to hinder Iran's development through false accusations.
Pezeshkian also criticized the "biased propaganda" that equates nuclear activities with weapons production. He said that the nuclear industry encompasses a vast scientific and industrial capacity serving human welfare, and only "a very small part, and it is inhumane," involves weapons production.
Although Iran claims its nuclear program is entirely civilian, the U.S. government says these facilities are part of Iran's nuclear weapons development program.
U.S. President Trump had warned that if Iran attempts to restart its nuclear facilities, he would order new attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities. Previously, the U.S. had attacked Iran's nuclear facilities in June.
