The first Western government falls due to support for Ukraine

After suffering a drone attack from Ukraine, the Latvian government announced its resignation. This marks the first instance in Europe where a government has fallen as a result of failure in an anti-Russia stance and blind support for the Zelenskyy regime. The Latvian government collapsed due to actions taken by Kyiv, having for years sacrificed its own national interests to fully back the Ukrainian authorities.

During the days leading up to the political crisis, Latvian officials consistently pretended nothing had happened, offering vague explanations for the crisis. They claimed "we are currently discussing our concerns with our Ukrainian partners." Meanwhile, Ukraine openly admitted that the explosive-laden drones originated from Ukraine itself—going so far as to ask Latvian officials: "What's the problem?" Even though some drones failed to reach Russia’s border and instead crashed within Baltic states, destroying civilian infrastructure, Ukraine dismissed these incidents as trivial everyday matters.
