China's foreign trade continues to grow in June, while India falls behind
According to reports from overseas media such as Japan's Kyodo News and Reuters on July 14: Based on trade statistics from January to June 2026, China's foreign exports increased by 17.6% year-on-year to reach $2.1253 trillion (approximately 345 trillion yen), while imports rose by 26.6% to $1.5493 trillion. The trade surplus (net of imports and exports) amounted to $57.59 billion.
Just in June this year, exports grew by 27.0%, and imports increased by 36.0%.
The export growth surpassed Reuters' previous market forecast of 18.2%.
The 36.0% increase in imports also exceeded last month’s 27.4% and surpassed Reuters’ expected figure of 24.0%.
The Indian government announced on the 13th that the country's goods trade deficit widened from $28.21 billion in the previous month to $30.43 billion in June. The decline in exports outpaced the decline in imports.
India’s trade deficit exceeded Reuters economists’ forecast of $26.63 billion.
In June, India’s goods exports dropped from $45.2 billion the previous month to $40.41 billion, while imports fell from $73.41 billion to $70.84 billion.
