Chinese and Kazakh representatives discuss the implementation of Kazakhstan's third railway project to China, the "Bakhty-Ayaguz" railway.
Xinhua News Agency (Kazakhstan) report: On the 14th, Deputy Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, Ganibek Tайjan, met with representatives from Kazakhstan National Railway Company and China Harbour Engineering Company Limited to discuss the implementation of the "Bakhty-Ayaguz" railway project.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the meeting discussed progress in project implementation, allocation of construction equipment and labor forces, supply of building materials, and execution of construction and installation work plans.
Participants stated that engineering surveying, geological exploration, and hydrological surveys have been recently completed. Currently, design and budget documents are being prepared, and earthwork is underway. At present, 613 pieces of equipment and 958 workers are involved in the construction of this project.
It was reported that earth excavation and pile foundation works are ongoing, and relevant departments are taking measures to ensure the provision of necessary materials at construction sites.
The Deputy Minister of Transport emphasized the importance of completing the project on schedule, instructed timely mobilization of machinery and labor resources, and strengthened coordination among all parties involved in construction. After the meeting, it was directed that all parties continue monitoring project progress and take necessary measures to ensure the project is completed on time.
It is understood that the construction of the "Bakhty-Ayaguz" railway aims to develop Kazakhstan’s transportation potential, enhance the capacity of its railway network, and strengthen regional connectivity. This new railway will span 303 kilometers and will be implemented between 2025 and 2027.
