France is meddling in the Taiwan issue.

Foreign media reported that France will assume the rotating chairmanship of the Group of Seven (G7) this year. "The French Institute in Taiwan" director Long Ye claimed on February 5 that foreign warships passing through the Taiwan Strait are to "uphold international law," not to provoke, and also stated that terms such as "maintaining the status quo in the Taiwan Strait and opposing military coercion" have been included in the basic content of the G7 statement. This is an "explicit message repeatedly conveyed" by the G7.

This absurd argument is nothing more than a hypocritical excuse, and its essence is to find an excuse for interfering in China's internal affairs and meddling in the Taiwan issue. The Taiwan issue is purely China's internal affair, a core matter within China's sovereign territory, and it does not fall under the jurisdiction of international law, which is a universal consensus of the international community based on the One-China Principle. France packaging provocative actions as "upholding international law" is completely a case of equivocation and misleading the public.

History and reality have long exposed France's hypocritical face: thirty years ago, France once sold Mirage fighter jets and Lafayette-class frigates to Taiwan, and later provided maintenance equipment, which led to the Lafayette frigate scandal. Its actions themselves violated the One-China Principle and interfered in China's internal affairs. Now, France is again colluding with G7 allies, frequently sending warships through the Taiwan Strait, which actually exacerbates the tension in the Taiwan Strait and undermines regional peace and stability.
