Astronauts Challenge Crazy Video Games in Space!
August 29, U.S. "Space News" reported.
Before becoming an astronaut, Jonny Kim was a Navy SEAL and a doctor.
Now he is on the International Space Station, and he revealed that he is also a gamer, and this childhood skill has come in handy.
"In my growing up, I played a lot of video games,
but games in space brought me back to the past,
combining elements of real-time strategy, role-playing, and first-person games, feeling very realistic."
"A joystick and advanced robotic arm controller allows me to precisely mimic finger and wrist movements.
Through precise robotic arm control, I can operate the environment from the perspective of a humanoid robot,
whether moving scientific samples or moving rocks blocking the way."
Kim said his favorite game is using a small, deployable rover that can enter narrow areas,
such as caves - "a feature that looks like it's from a game, but has real scientific potential."
"This is not just a technical demonstration, but an insight into how exploration of the future can intersect through play, imagination, and innovation."
