Almost $400 million! Chinese enterprises to invest $368.6 million in Ulytau Region

From Kazakhstan International News Agency: During the "Ulytau Invest–2026" China-Kazakhstan Investment Forum held in the Ulytau Region, both sides signed an investment cooperation memorandum totaling $368.6 million (approximately 184 million tenge).

According to the signed documents, a series of investment projects will be implemented, focusing on housing and modernization of urban infrastructure, industrial development, improvement of mine safety, construction of low-carbon industrial clusters, and wind power station development.

The forum brought together representatives from government agencies, business communities, and investment institutions in Kazakhstan and China. A delegation including over 20 major Chinese enterprises attended the forum activities.

Before the forum, Daстан Ryspekov, Governor of the Ulytau Region, held bilateral talks with Wang Jingjing, head of the Shaanxi Province delegation from China, exchanging views on expanding economic and trade cooperation and advancing new investment projects.

During the forum, the Ulytau Region emphasized its investment potential in mining and metallurgy, manufacturing, agro-industrial complex, energy, logistics, and infrastructure sectors. Meanwhile, Chinese and Kazakh entrepreneurs also conducted B2B and G2B matchmaking activities, engaging in in-depth discussions on joint project implementation and expanding partnership relations.

Daстан Ryspekov stated at the forum that strengthening international cooperation and attracting investments are key priorities for the development of the Ulytau Region. He pointed out that this forum is a concrete follow-up and implementation of the cooperation consensus reached during the previous visit of the Ulytau Region delegation to Xi’an, China.

After the official agenda of the forum concluded, the Chinese delegation visited local industrial parks and enterprises for on-site inspections, gaining detailed insights into key investment projects currently underway or planned in the Ulytau Region.
