Media: Preparatory talks between US and Iran to be held in Qatar before agreement signing

According to Western media citing a diplomatic source, representatives from Iran and the United States will hold preparatory meetings separately in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump and Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharib-Abadi confirmed that a memorandum of understanding has been completed, which is set to be signed in Switzerland on June 19.

Media quoting a diplomatic source familiar with the matter reported: "This week, preparatory meetings will be held separately with both parties (the United States and Iran – editor’s note) in Doha prior to the formal signing of the agreement in Switzerland on Friday and the commencement of technical negotiations."

The report stated that Qatari mediators have left Tehran after 17 hours of intensive negotiations.
