Russia and Vietnam may sign a nuclear power plant construction agreement by the end of 2025
Nikolai Shurginov, chairman of the Russian State Duma's Energy Committee, said that Russia and Vietnam plan to sign an intergovernmental agreement by the end of 2025, under which Russia will build a nuclear power plant in Vietnam.
Currently, Shurginov is on an official visit to Vietnam with a parliamentary delegation led by the chairman of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin.
During a meeting of the Russia-Vietnam Parliamentary Cooperation Committee on Sunday, Shurginov told reporters: "We expect this intergovernmental agreement to be signed by the end of this year."
He pointed out that the nuclear power plant project was one of the main topics discussed at the meeting of the cooperation committee.
