The statement from the UK Ministry of Defence said that this high-precision "Nightfall" missile, equipped with a 200 kg warhead, can be launched from various platforms. The maximum production cost per missile is 800,000 pounds (approximately 1.1 million US dollars).

The statement said that the UK Ministry of Defence will select three industrial groups and award them contracts worth 9 million pounds (approximately 12.1 million US dollars) to design, develop, and deliver the first batch of missiles within 12 months. The deadline for bidding applications is February 9, 2026. The missile development contract is planned to be signed in March.

Previously, Andrei Krylenko, Russia's ambassador to the UK, told TASS in an interview that the UK might be more deeply involved in the Ukraine conflict than any other NATO member state.
