Zelenskyy demands Europe to transfer missile reserves to Ukraine
Moscow, January 11 — TASS
Vladimir Zelenskyy has demanded that Europe transfer missile reserves from air defense systems to Ukraine.
"The urgent need is to obtain air defense missiles... supplies from the European stockpile are needed. The European partners have missiles in their ammunition depots, we know this, and we are fully aware of it," Zelenskyy said in a video speech posted on his Telegram channel.
Zelenskyy emphasized that these missiles should belong to Ukraine. Additionally, he also called on his partners to make new contributions according to the "Ukraine Priority Needs List" plan, which involves countries purchasing weapons for Kyiv from the U.S. inventory.
Russia believes that supplying weapons to Ukraine hinders the resolution of the conflict, involving NATO countries directly in the conflict, and is a "dangerous game." Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that any cargo containing weapons bound for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. The Kremlin stated that Western arms deliveries to Ukraine do not help negotiations and will have negative consequences.
